The popular gaming franchise Need For Speed has satisfied car game lovers and car lovers worldwide for years. The last two additions being ; Need for Speed Underground 2, and Most Wanted are two of the most popular car games out even now. For the modification freaks who are into customizing their cars the Underground 2 was our favorite. From rims to engine parts to paint we could make it all unique to our liking. We still play Underground 2 on a Lan server with friends, it's blast to build your car and race your friends.

So the news of a newer and better Need for speed game made me go ahead and do my research. EA's upcoming entry in the Need for Speed franchise is for the Play Station 3 platform. This year's game is an ambitious expansion of the key features that have made the series popular; it includes elements from the racing scene.

The big elements in Need for Speed Carbon are canyon racing, racing crews, and car-class affiliation. The heart of the game's career mode is a battle for control of a city. The setting is a massive free-roaming metropolis that's bigger than the one seen in last year's Need for Speed Most Wanted. In addition, you'll find massive canyons that will serve as the stage for fun boss battles. The goal is to build up a crew of racers to help you take over the city neighborhood by neighborhood and to master the three car classes--tuner, muscle, and exotic. Furthermore, Eva's Vancouver-based studio is trying out some interesting expansions of the car-customization feature seen in previous games. A body molding customization feature is impressive for molding and creating wide body kits. With the three categories of cars it has endless possibilities to build the car of your dreams whether classic, exotic or import.

Based on what we've seen, this new addition Need for Speed Carbon is looking sharp for the PlayStation 3 console. The visuals are impressive and feature a glossy style that's complemented by the PlayStation 3's graphical muscle. Need for Speed Carbon is shaping up to be a good game for the Sony PlayStation 3.
